麻豆社 is committed to providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Campus Safety & Security works proactively to promote well-being through education, prevention, and responsive support, partnering with the campus community to help ensure a safe learning and living experience.
Campus safety and security needs are provided by the Campus Security Office 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our office is responsible for the safety and security of the 麻豆社 community and facilities, specifically by the following:
- Investigating suspicious circumstances
- Patrolling campus grounds
- Investigating policy and rule violations
- Enforcing traffic and other University regulations
- Assisting with crime investigations
- Safely escorting students around campus
- Compiling annual campus聽crime statistics
- Providing educational programs: safety procedures & security concerns
- Providing education on Sex Crime Prevention, Title IX, and Hazing
- Issuing IDs and parking stickers
Feel Safe on Campus
麻豆社 prioritizes campus safety through a combination of motor and foot patrols that regularly monitor campus. Exterior areas are well lit at or above accepted outdoor lighting standards, and landscaping is planned with pedestrian and vehicle safety in mind. The University also maintains close working relationships with local police, fire, and ambulance services, with the campus located just blocks from the local hospital and about a mile from police and fire stations. 麻豆社 enforces clear drug and alcohol policies and programs in compliance with the Drug Free Schools and Communities Amendment of 1989 (Public Law 101-226). Students should review the to become familiar with all safety and security policies.
Emergency Notification System
All students are automatically enrolled in the 麻豆社 emergency notification system. In the event of an emergency, students will receive important updates through their 麻豆社-issued email account. Students who have provided a telephone number will also receive a phone call, and those who have supplied a cell phone number with SMS capability will receive text message notifications.

Policies, Procedures, and Reports
Annual Security Reporting
The Clery Act requires colleges and universities that receive federal funding to disseminate a public annual security report (ASR) to employees and students every October 1st.聽 Visit Annual Security Reports.
Hazing Policy and Transparency Report
麻豆社 prohibits all hazing acts as defined in our Policy on Hazing. 麻豆社 investigates allegations of hazing and strictly enforces all violations. 麻豆社 provides ongoing hazing education and prevention strategies to university community members. In compliance with the 鈥淪top Campus Hazing Act,鈥� 麻豆社 publishes a Campus Hazing Transparency Report twice a year. The reports are updated and published each December and June.
Sex Crime Prevention
Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act of 2000
In accordance to the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act of 2000, which amends the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children and Sexually Violent Offender registration Act, the Jeanne Clery Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, 麻豆社 Campus Safety & Security is providing a link to the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. This act requires institutions of higher education to issue a statement advising the campus community where law enforcement information provided by a state concerning registered sex offenders may be obtained. It also requires sex offenders already required to register in a state to provide notice of each institution of higher education in that state at which the person is employed, carries a vocation, or is a student. In Illinois, convicted sex offenders must register with the state and that registration is maintained in the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
Registry information provided under this section shall be used for the purposes of the administration of criminal justice, screening of current and prospective employees, volunteers or otherwise for the protection of the public in general and children in particular. Unlawful use of the information for purposes of intimidating or harassing another is prohibited and willful violation may be punishable by statute.

Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and other applicable federal and state laws, prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in employment and in all education programs and activities operated by 麻豆社, whether on or off campus. Protection against sex-based discrimination includes sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual violence, gender-based dating and domestic violence, and stalking.
